Sleep , it makes me happy!

For those of you who have known me for a long time, you know that I am not the kind of person that can function on little sleep. I have been this way since I was a kid.

My kids will tell you that since a young age if they were cranky, the answer was to get more sleep. If they were feeling sick, -get more sleep. If they were argumentative or disrespectful- hit the sack Jack!
( If you knew me when the kids were infants and toddlers, you are probably laughing right now because I was the nap nazi too!)

The first thing I noticed about 6 weeks on Protandim was how much deeper I was sleeping. Although sleep has always been my go to solution, I have always been a light sleeper. Add age, and 4 kids in the mix and I have turned into a super light sleeper. Mike jokes ( but is really serious) about the slightest movement he can make and I will jump out of bed. Since I have been on Protandim it has been different. I know that Protandim is lowering my oxidative stress-  this study suggests that oxidative stress can effect our circadian rhythm. (circadian rhythm is often referred to as our body clock). If our  "clock" is working better, studies have shown that our health, our sleep and other systems will be working better.  Here is the link to the study. Now when I tell my kids they just need some sleep and they say " Mom, you always say that", I can show them a study that proves that its not just their mama!http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23198849

Mike Cellino's physical

Mike received a GREAT report from his doctor last week. - Let me start out by saying that the only thing that Mike has done differently in his regular routine is Protandim. He has been on it now for 5 months. Since his last doctor's checkup ( 3 yrs ago). He has not changed his diet, which is not bad, but he also has not added in exercise like he should. ( He is not proud of that either!)

Although his goal is to incorporate regular exercise into his regimen, he is very ENCOURAGED by the difference in his blood work since three years ago. The Protandim is working, that is all I can say. Some of us might have great side effects of more energy and better sleep, but whether you experience that or not, it is lowering our oxidative stress which has an impact on so many of our bodies systems.

All of his blood work either improved or stayed the same. Nothing stayed the same that needed to improve.

                                                                               2010                     2013

Cholesterol                                                              215                       181

AST           ( this is a liver test)                                 43                         31 ( healthy range is 10-40)

ALT            ( this is a liver test)                               66                          44  ( healthy range is 9-60)

The rest of the numbers were in healthy ranges in 2010, and either stayed the same or had improved slightly. The ones I mentioned above were the numbers that were in BOLD black type with an  "H"
next to them- meaning they were higher than they should be. All of the tests that had the " H" next to them are now in healthy ranges. So what is next? Lets see what some exercise will do now! LOL.
